PROJECT OVERVIEW

IDES Electrical Services were appointed by Fix Auto Oswestry to design and install a Solar PV system at their accident repair centre. The project formed part of the client’s commitment to reducing operational energy costs and improving environmental performance through the generation of renewable energy on-site.

THE CHALLENGE

As a busy automotive repair facility, Fix Auto Oswestry required a renewable energy solution capable of reducing reliance on grid-supplied electricity while delivering a strong financial return on investment. The system needed to be carefully designed to maximise on-site energy generation and support the site’s ongoing operational requirements.

In addition to achieving the client’s sustainability objectives, the installation needed to provide long-term energy savings and a commercially attractive payback period.

OUR SOLUTION

IDES provided a complete turnkey Solar PV solution, managing the project from initial site assessment and system design through to installation, testing and commissioning. Working closely with the client, a 62kWp Solar PV system comprising 149 solar panels was designed and installed to maximise renewable energy generation and support the site’s energy consumption profile.

The project included a full installation package together with ongoing aftercare support, ensuring the system continued to operate efficiently and deliver maximum long-term value.

PROJECT OUTCOME

The project was successfully completed within programme, providing Fix Auto Oswestry with a substantial source of renewable energy generation and significantly reducing the site’s dependence on grid-supplied electricity.

The completed 62kWp Solar PV installation is expected to deliver annual electricity savings of approximately £21,000, achieving an estimated payback period of just 3.5 years. In addition to the financial benefits, the system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 14 tonnes of CO₂ each year, supporting the client’s wider sustainability objectives and environmental commitments.
