PROJECT OVERVIEW

IDES Electrical Services were appointed by Jones & Andrews Ltd to deliver the complete electrical installation package for Reformation’s new store on King Street, Manchester.

The high-specification retail fit-out created Reformation’s first standalone store in the North of England, bringing the international fashion brand to one of Manchester’s leading premium retail destinations.

The project combined high-quality retail lighting and electrical infrastructure with the specialist power and data requirements for Reformation’s technology-led Retail X concept.

THE CHALLENGE

The project required the delivery of a complete electrical fit-out within a busy Manchester city-centre environment, working to a fixed programme ahead of the store’s planned opening.

As a premium fashion retailer, the quality of the finished environment was particularly important. Electrical services needed to integrate seamlessly with the high-end interior finishes, detailed display areas and bespoke lighting throughout the sales floor, fitting rooms and back-of-house spaces.

The integration of Reformation’s Retail X technology added another important element to the installation, requiring carefully coordinated electrical and data infrastructure throughout the customer-facing areas and fitting rooms.

OUR SOLUTION

Working alongside Jones & Andrews Ltd, IDES delivered the complete electrical installation throughout the new store, including new electrical distribution, general and emergency lighting, retail display lighting and power infrastructure.

A comprehensive lighting installation was delivered across the sales floor, incorporating track lighting, window display lighting, LED lighting integrated within cabinetry and shelving, decorative chandeliers and specialist lighting throughout the changing rooms. Back-of-house areas were also included within the complete electrical fit-out.

IDES also provided the electrical and data infrastructure required to support Reformation’s Retail X technology, including the infrastructure serving the digitally enabled customer and fitting-room experience.

Careful coordination throughout the programme ensured the electrical services complemented the premium interior finishes while supporting the operational and technological requirements of the new store.

PROJECT OUTCOME

The project was successfully completed ahead of Reformation’s fixed store opening, delivering a high-quality retail environment combining premium finishes, carefully integrated lighting and technology-led infrastructure.

The completed store provides a strong showcase of IDES’ retail capability, from electrical distribution and specialist lighting through to the power and data infrastructure supporting modern retail technology.

As IDES’ first project for Reformation, the King Street development also adds another internationally recognised retail brand to our growing portfolio and demonstrates our ability to deliver high-specification retail environments in prominent city-centre locations.
