Fire Alarm Installation & Commissioning Engineer
IDES are a nationwide electrical contractor that work throughout the commercial and industrial sectors, specialising in the dental industry, automotive repair centres and retail store fit outs. We are looking for a Fire Alarm Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. This is a long-term career opportunity with potential progression within the company.
Main Responsibilities
- Your role will be to complete the installation and modification of Fire Detection Systems, to British Standards, efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.
- Installing various fire alarm systems in mainly industrial and commercial premises, with occasional domestic properties.
- Complete small and larger installations as part of a team or on your own. Be readily available to support your colleagues where required
- Assist with ad-hoc project work
Knowledge/Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years installation experience, working with a variety of Fire Alarm Systems including addressable and conventional systems across a range of manufacturers.
- BS 7671: 18th Edition Qualification (or equivalent qualification)
- Understanding of BS5839-1 and the latest update on the regulation is essential
- Knowledge of (and adherence to) health and safety regulations.
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work away from home, throughout the UK.
Preferred
- Up to date CSCS/ECS card
- Up to date IPAF Certification
- C&G 2391-52: Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing Qualification

Salary: £40,000/annum (negotiable)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (10-hour working day), Saturday – Sunday (overtime)
