PROJECT OVERVIEW

IDES Electrical Services were appointed by Jones & Andrews Ltd to deliver the complete electrical refurbishment of a large sports retail store at a prominent retail park location in Belfast. The project involved the strip-out of the existing electrical installation and the installation of a new electrical infrastructure package to support the retailer’s refurbished store environment and operational requirements.

As part of the delivery strategy, IDES mobilised its own installation team to Northern Ireland, demonstrating the company’s ability to successfully deliver projects nationwide while maintaining consistent quality, supervision and programme control.

THE CHALLENGE

The project required the complete replacement of the existing electrical installation within a closed-store refurbishment programme. All existing electrical services were removed and replaced, requiring careful coordination with the wider fit-out team to maintain programme milestones and achieve the client’s planned reopening schedule.

The installation incorporated power, lighting, data infrastructure, fire alarm systems and Building Management System connections throughout the facility. Particular attention was required to deliver the retailer’s lighting specification, including track lighting, window display lighting and back-of-house areas, helping create an engaging customer environment while supporting operational requirements.

The location of the project in Northern Ireland also required additional logistical planning to coordinate labour, materials and project resources throughout the ten-week programme.

OUR SOLUTION

Working alongside Jones & Andrews Ltd, IDES delivered a complete electrical refurbishment package from initial strip-out through to final testing and commissioning. The works included new electrical distribution infrastructure, power systems, lighting, emergency lighting, data infrastructure, fire alarm systems and Building Management System wiring throughout the store.

New galvanised containment systems were installed together with new distribution boards and supporting electrical infrastructure designed to support both customer-facing retail operations and back-of-house functions. Lighting installations were completed in accordance with the client’s specification across all retail, stockroom and staff areas, including specialist track lighting and window display lighting designed to enhance product presentation and customer experience.

Through careful planning and the mobilisation of its own installation team, IDES successfully delivered the project in line with the client’s programme requirements.

PROJECT OUTCOME
