If you’ve already spent some time having a look at our website, you probably know that we’re an electrical contractor company. We do talk about it quite a lot. You might also have spotted that we’re UK based, work nationwide and are pretty well established in our industry. But, just in case you hadn’t, we’ve gone and told you anyway. 

 

Now we wanted to take the chance to tell you a bit more about ourselves. Let’s take a look at who we are beyond our company name and logo and dig deep into what makes us different from those other electrical contractors. Check out the real IDES and see what we can do for you.

 

Our History

 

Looking at where we are today, it’s kind of hard to believe we started as a tiny, family run business at the capable hands of James and Garth (who are still very much here and in charge today!). That was over twenty years ago now. We were twenty years younger – how we envy those fresh-faced lads of our past! (But we don’t envy the twenty years of work they’ve got coming their way!)

 

Over the years, we’ve watched our company grow at a speed not even we could’ve expected. There’s been a lot of hard work, a few sleepless nights and plenty of working weekends, but it’s all worth it to see where we are now. IDES is now an established electrical services company fitting the nation’s electrics.

 

But, despite this growth, we haven’t lost our core family values like a lot of other businesses do. At the centre of IDES, we still keep the same beliefs and ideas that we held when we started.

 

What We Do

 

It’s all very well saying we’re an ‘electrical services’ company – but what do we actually do? Let us tell you.

 

We provide a number of electrical-based services across a range of sectors including domestic, commercial and public. We also work in the industrial and automotive industry.

 

The exact services we provide include (but aren’t limited to):

 

• Power and lighting (including lighting design, LED’s and emergency lights)
• Fire and intruder alarms (installation and testing)
• Electric charging points for automobiles
• CCTV
• Data installations
• Access Control

 

Alongside all these services, we offer a 24/7 callout so that you can get our team’s help whenever you need it. That comes in handy when your lighting goes down at 3am – trust us, we know.

 

When it comes to automotive work, we have leading expertise which puts us a mile ahead of competitors. Whether you need an LED spray booth or a full set of overhead lighting, we’re the guys for the job.

 

Our Products

 

We work with renowned lighting manufacturer Hilclare Ltd. to design and manufacture LED products. For example, we created the AUTOLUX which is exclusive to IDES. It’s an incredibly high-quality, low energy consumption light with high output.

 

The fact we now have the connections, time and skill to develop our own products is a pretty big achievement in our books. It was kind of where we always wanted IDES to go, and now here we are.

 

We can also get you any other LED product on the market if you already know what you want. Don’t worry, we won’t go forcing our LED’s on you! We can work with any make and type of LED lighting, so don’t think you’re limited to just our gear.

 

How We Work

 

As we mentioned, we work across the whole of the UK, so you can take advantage of our electrical expertise wherever you are. We’ll even carry out a free site survey for you if we think it’s necessary. Handy!

 

We’re capable of providing a full service including design work, commissioning and installing, making your life that bit simpler. From the first survey to the day of completion, our team can be on-hand to manage, aid and bring life to your ideas.

 

We’re also very aware of cost and will make sure we know your budget before we start a job. In that way, we can find creative solutions to your problems that’ll work with the money you have. It’s not hard to make great service cost effective and we’re proof of that.

 

On every job, no matter how big or small, we work closely with the rules and regulations of our industry. Health and safety might seem a bit of a pain sometimes, but we never relax on the rules – it’s not worth it for us or for you.

 

All of our team are highly trained and NICEIC approved, so you know the job’s going to be done properly. After 20 years, there’s no chance we’d still be here if we hadn’t done things right.
