It’s fair to say that 2020 has been a topsy-turvy year for most. With the pandemic massively affecting all industries, it’s not been plain sailing for a lot of people and businesses. Unfortunately, the restrictions have meant some businesses have paid the ultimate sacrifice and have had to close their doors.
We’re taking this opportunity to reflect on an unusual year. Before we head into it, we’d like to state that this isn’t a platform for us to brag and boast at how well we’ve done through an uncertain year. Oh no. That’d be unethical and frankly, it’s just not us. We’d like to send our condolences and best wishes to those who have been affected throughout the year.
It’s no surprise that a lot of people won’t be sad to see the end of 2020. We’re going to use this as an opportunity to share some of our thoughts and lessons learned from the year. Plus, end the year with a note of well-need positivity. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
The Unfortunate Events of 2020
The global pandemic has dominated in 2020. Not only has it had a huge impact on overall health and wellbeing, but it’s also brought some businesses and industries to their knees. Firstly, we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the impact that it’s had and send our condolences and best wishes to all of those affected by it.
We’re extremely grateful for the fact that we can take our overall health into 2021 – and we’re determined to make it a much better one than this year. Let’s face it, that won’t be hard – seeing as we’ve not been able to get out much and enjoy ourselves with the necessary restrictions. With mass disruption and disturbance, there’ll be plenty of businesses and industries wanting to get back on track next year too.
Most importantly, as people and businesses, we’ve come through it a lot stronger. During uncertain times, we’ve had to dig deep, grit our teeth and get through it. It’s not been easy but well done, we’re finally there! At IDES, we’re excited to see what new challenges 2021 throws our way and figure out how we’re going to overcome them.
Our Flexible Approach
With the restrictions in place affecting the way that we work, we’ve had to rely on our flexible approach more so than ever. For example, we carry out site surveys across the UK for all our jobs, however, we’ve had to mould our service to be fully Covid-compliant and ensure that everybody is as safe as possible. Our flexibility has even exceeded our own expectations!
In times of uncertainty, we soon learned that what needed to happen was for everybody to give a little bit more. We aim to help anybody and everybody all year round, however, it’s vitally important in times of need. We’ve worked alongside a plethora of businesses to help them get back up and running after being hit by the pandemic.
We care about our customers – that’s at the core of everything that we do. Which has gone hand in hand with our flexible approach. As a business, if we can help somebody – we will. No matter how small the job is. Throughout 2020, we’ve revelled in the opportunity to lend a helping hand to our amazing customers.
A HUGE Thank You to Our Customers
At the end of a tough year, it wouldn’t be fair to not give our incredible customers the acknowledgement that they deserve. Let’s face it, without our customers, we wouldn’t be able to provide the service that we do. To know that you trust us in uncertain times and are willing to invest in our business when funds are tight means a hell of a lot to us.
During times where you can’t predict anything with any level of certainty, one thing that you can guarantee is that at IDES we always put our customers first. And it’s easy to see in everything that we do. We care about your individual situations – we’re not just here to line our own pockets, which, unfortunately, some electrical contractors are.
So, to our previous, current and existing customers – a HUGE thank you is in order. We’ve loved working alongside you this year and long may it continue into the long-term future too. We always aim to form partnerships and ensure that any dealings with us are as simple as they can be.
We work with a large range of customers around the UK that are present in various industries. We love the challenge that each project throws up and are looking forward to seeing what new projects we have the pleasure of working on in the forthcoming year.
The Resilience of Our Team
We’d like to give a special mention to the resilience of our amazing team – quite simply, we couldn’t have got through this all without them. 2020 has been a tricky year for employment, with lots of cuts being made to many industries. However, our team has never been more instrumental in anything that we do.
They continue to work hard day in, day out. Plus, they give everything and reflect our core values in all tasks and projects. We couldn’t ask for more and the results of having a team that are all aligned in our efforts are starting to come to fruition. We’re lucky that we get to work within such a fantastic working community.
It’s fair to say that the team has faced their fair share of challenges and hurdles to get over this year. However, they never fail to rise above and exceed all expectations of what’s in their way. We can’t thank them enough for all of their efforts throughout the year and are excited for what 2021 holds for our incredible team.
Here’s to 2021!
So, there you have it! 2020 – that’s a wrap. As we progress into 2021, we’re forecasting another year where we move from strength to strength. We’re incredibly grateful for the position that we’ve ended the year in and it’s a credit to all our hard work throughout the year. Plus, the willingness of our fantastic customers to work alongside us.
We’re grateful that we’ve got our health and our business to be able to take into the upcoming year – which is something, unfortunately, a lot of people and businesses can’t say. Again, we extend our well wishes to all those affected.
Finally, we wish everyone all the best for Christmas and the New Year. Stay safe, look after one another and have fun celebrating with your loved ones. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
