IDES Electrical Services has partnered with GBA Technical Services, ws their Solar PV supplier at their latest state-of-the-art Automotive Technical Centre in Immingham.

We’re incredibly proud to announce our recent partnership with GBA Technical Services, a Globally recognised automotive logistics provider for both 3PL and 4PL services. IDES have designed and supplied the Automotive Technical Centre 2 (ATC 2) with Solar PV – a huge 779.7kW project that will provide a wide range of benefits for the Groups operations.

This project, designed in conjunction with the leading Defleet and PDI operator, includes the installation of 1,700 solar PV panels being installed on the recently developed technical facility. The industry-leading scheme will provide a reduction in operating costs by over 85%. This coupled with GBA’s installation of 4 brand new electric ovens, to further reduce their Carbon footprint, will mean ATC 2 will be the ‘greenest’ defleet centre in the UK.

Furthermore, any excess solar energy from the system will be exported via a renewable energy exchange – meaning that ATC will be able to sell green energy back to private consumers and mitigate the volatility in the energy market we are seeing today.

GBA’s investment into ATC 2 will provide much-needed, quality, defleet capacity to the automotive market. The 54,000 sq. ft technical facility, sitting within 8 acres of tarmac, has undergone a full refurbishment with the installation of 4 Todd Engineering Electric ovens, IDES’ latest AUTOLUX lighting scheme (achieving 1000 lux at floor level), 16 lifts, remarketing imaging table as well as in-house diamond cut wheel facility provides clients with the very latest in automotive technology supported by GBA’s in-house technology platform.
